SHOULD YOU BUY USED AUTO PARTS?
For over 50 years we've proudly sold auto parts in St. Catharines. During this time we’ve noticed some common questions about used auto parts that we’ve addressed below.
ARE USED AUTO PARTS WORTH IT?
When it comes to auto parts, at least the auto parts we sell, “used” does not mean poor quality.
Many used auto parts are not heavily worn. In fact, a vehicle with front end damage from a wreck can be considered “totalled” and sent to an auto recycler, but it will still have many parts in the middle and back portions that are still in great shape.
We may be considered a junkyard but we do not sell junk.
WHY BUY USED AUTO PARTS?
Other than the fact used auto parts sold from a registered dealer like us are tested and completely safe to buy, there are other benefits to buying used to keep in mind.
1.
Extend the life of your vehicle.
If you take care of it, it will ride forever. In some cases buying a used auto part is the only (or best) option you have depending on the make, model and year of your car. Auto parts stores don't often keep that rare part you need in stock.
2. You will save money.
While many used auto parts can be nearly good as new, you won’t be paying new part prices.
3. It's environmental friendly.
Whenever you’re not buying new you’re not using new natural resources to manufacturer it. As the old saying goes: recycle, reduce, re-use.
4. You'll be supporting local.
Used auto parts are generally sold by nearby salvage yards that employ members of your community. Buying new parts on the other hand can sometimes mean having products purchased and shipped from far away.
