HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU CHANGE YOUR OIL?
Some car manufacturers may reason that due to improved design and construction, their vehicles require less maintenance than before, some even suggesting intervals as high as every 24,000 km between oil changes.
However the argument against that is that car manufacturers are only focused on sales and being competitive and not so much focused on the long term care and health of your vehicle.
Our recommendation is, if you plan on keeping your vehicle past the warranty, having an engine oil change and inspection done every 5,000 km or every 3 months is cheap insurance.
Over time, your engine oil breaks down and wears out. When it does, it becomes less effective at lubricating your vehicles engine and absorbing heat. Your goal is to change the oil in your engine before it breaks down and causes major engine troubles.
