HOW TO MAINTAIN SAFE TIRE PRESSURE
Maintaining correct tire inflation is the most important factor in your overall tire performance. A tire that is not properly inflated will have a shorter life, and will significantly reduce steering response and fuel efficiency for your vehicle.STEP 1. Locate the cold tire inflation pressure for your vehicle.
This is found in either the owners manual or inside the drivers side door.
STEP 2. Remove the valve cap then press the pressure gauge down onto the valve.
Ensure it's lined up and pressed firmly enough that there is no hissing sound.
STEP 3. View the pressure reading.
This is done in different ways depending on the pressure gauge you're using as some are mechanical (as pictured below and what you'd find at most public air stations) and some are digital.
STEP 4. If needed, pump air into the tire.
Do this until the reading has been raised to your cars tire pressure level. Often this is done using the same device from step #3. Repeat steps on all 4 tires.
